    Banking Exam Through IBPS :

IBPS stands for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection.

About IBPS : The magnificence of IBPS has stood over 40 years. Working on international testing models like the ETS model, the Institute conducts a wide spectrum of activities in personnel selection both for promotion within and recruitment and selection from outside the organization. Today, IBPS has become a body providing integrated end to end solutions for human resource management of client organizations. The Institute is equipped with its very own fleet of qualified personnel - people from the banking and insurance industry, psychology, information technology and educational measurement who have specialized in the testing process. Its various verticals include Client Relations, Design and Analysis, Research and Development, Processing and Technology Operations and Support Services. It also has its own technology infrastructure for data ware house and processing. It has state-of-the-art printing facility that is capable of printing over 100 thousand data booklets and answer sheets per day. The Institute has the capability of testing simultaneously as many as 1 million candidates in 2000 venues across 200 centers (cities) in one session. In 2010-11 alone, IBPS was successful in screening over 10 million candidates for testing and filled approx. 79,236 vacancies for its client organizations besides testing of candidates for admission to academic institutes and certification for diplomas.

Change Rule for Commom Written Examination :

Looks like issues faced by candidates such as repetition of one candidate in many banks' Interviews and high cost of application etc. will now be solved as IBPS and Banks discussed these issues in a meeting last week as reported by Hindu Business Line.

The HR heads of banks, IBPS Director M. Balachandran and Indian Banks Association (IBA) recently discussed many questions being raised about the new CWE selection Process.

The key points discussed in the meeting are Graduation Requirements, Application fees, Huge gap in Number of Qualifiers and Vacancies and Repetition of one candidate in select lists of various Banks.

    No Graduation Requirement for Now

The key decision agreed upon was to remove Graduation requirement from current exam cycle as the same was not mentioned by IBPS at the time of applications were invited. Banks will also mention it clearly when the Next time any CWE is conducted.

    Reduction in Application Fee

This matter was also discussed as candidates were claiming that they were paying huge money just for applying and still didn't get any call. So, From now onwards the application fee is supposed to come down to Rs. 100 from 200 (Rs. 20 for Reserved Categories).

    Tighter Screening

Many candidates were questioning the logic behind passing so many candidates while the vacancies were less than even 10% of passed candidates. IBPS now decided to tighten the screening criteria to bring down the number of passed candidates to 3 - 4 times of the vacancies.

    No more Multiple selections

It's a key issue as many candidates were reportedly getting selected in many banks and leaving no chance for others to get Interview calls.Several measures have been agreed upon to restrict this and make sure that low scoring candidates also tend to get a chance.

    • Joining time has been Minimized to 3 Weeks to make sure such repetition is minimized.
    • Banks will now maintain a Waiting list equal to number of vacancies. If the selected person doesn't join, the next candidate in the waiting list will be picked up.
    • If any vacancies are still left unfilled, banks will conduct fresh interviews from those who applied to them.
    BANK PO :

Bank Probationary Officer (PO) is a good profile post in any bank. Candidates can be recruited as bank PO after clearing the Bank PO Exam conducted by the respected bank. So it all depends on the performance in the exam, the better you perform, higher is the probability to cut through the competition.

Since, there is no specific task for a PO, therefore a PO can be asked to do anything till the completion of probation period. One the employee has been confirmed with the job he/she can be given the routine work like posting, passing, scrolling or advances or anything that is related to banking. There are many jobs for a PO. Almost all the banks all over India require a Probationary officer. So the future aspects to be a PO are too good for a youth. Students interested in Banking must try for a Probationary Officer.

Probationary Officer earns a good amount of salary, since there are limited seats for a PO in every bank, it is difficult to crack the PO Exam conducted by the bank.
